Refund policy
Updated on
This policy explains how to cancel a purchase and get your money back at Orafolio (orafolio.com). It applies to every ebook sold on the site, in any language.
In short
You have 7 calendar days from the date of purchase to change your mind, with no reason required — even if you have already downloaded and read the file. Just write to with your order number. We refund the full amount.
The right to withdraw
Art. 49 of Brazil's Consumer Protection Code gives the consumer the right to withdraw from a purchase within 7 days, counted from the contract or from receipt of the product, when the purchase is made away from business premises — which includes buying over the internet.
If the mandatory law of your country of residence gives you a longer or more favourable withdrawal period, that right is preserved: we apply whichever rule is better for you, and you do not have to argue for it.
We apply this rule to our ebooks with no catch:
- No reason needed. You do not have to justify anything or prove anything.
- It counts even if you already downloaded. Downloading does not cancel the right. We know a digital file cannot really be "returned"; we trust you and only ask that you delete any copies you have.
- The refund is full, with no cancellation fee and no deduction.
How to ask
Send an email to with:
- The subject "Refund".
- Your order number (it is in the confirmation email and on your order page).
- The email address used in the purchase, if you are writing from a different one.
- Your bank or Pix details, if the purchase was paid by Pix or bank slip (see below).
There is no form to fill in and nobody to call. We confirm that we received your refund request by email, normally within two working days.
Timing and method of the refund
The refund is made by the same method used for the payment, whenever the method allows it:
- Credit card: we ask the payment institution to reverse the charge within 5 working days of confirming your request. The amount appears as a refund on your statement, and the timing depends on your issuer and your billing cycle — usually on the next statement, sometimes on the one after that. That delay belongs to the card company, not to us.
- Pix (Brazilian purchases): we refund by Pix to a key held by the buyer, within 5 working days of confirmation. Because Pix keeps no "source method" for an automatic reversal, we need you to tell us the key.
- Bank slip (Brazilian purchases): we refund by Pix or bank transfer to an account held by the buyer, within 5 working days of receiving the bank details. A bank slip cannot be reversed.
We do not refund to a third party's account: the destination must belong to the same person who made the purchase. That is a fraud prevention requirement, not red tape of ours.
On international purchases, the amount refunded is the amount in Brazilian reais actually charged. What arrives in your currency may differ from what was debited, because of exchange rate movement between the purchase and the refund and because of fees charged by your bank or your card network. That difference belongs to the financial system and is outside our control.
After the 7 days
Once the withdrawal period has passed, we do not refund simply because you changed your mind — that is the rule the law sets for digital content already delivered. But we keep refunding, at any time, when the problem is ours:
- The file is corrupted, incomplete or will not open, and we cannot fix it.
- The content delivered is materially different from what the product page described.
- You were charged twice for the same order.
- The charge was made without your authorisation.
In those cases, art. 18 of Brazil's Consumer Protection Code gives us 30 days to cure the defect; if we do not cure it, you may choose between a refund, a price reduction or a replacement. Where the mandatory law of your country of residence gives you a stronger remedy for faulty digital content, that remedy also applies.
Problems with delivery
Before asking for a refund because of delivery, try the quickest route — it almost always works the same day:
- I did not get the email: check your spam or promotions folder and search for "Orafolio". If it is not there, the address may have been mistyped at the checkout. Write to us and we will send it again.
- The link does not work: write with your order number and we will resend the download address.
- The file will not open: tell us which device and which PDF reader you used. We resend the file and, if the fault is ours, we fix it.
Only when that fails does the case become a refund. You never have to buy again to receive something you already paid for.
Unpaid or expired orders
An order that is created and not paid generates no charge and needs no cancellation: the Pix code and the bank slip simply expire, and the order closes itself. There is no penalty and nothing left outstanding.
If you paid a bank slip or a Pix code after it expired and the payment went through, write to us: we either release the product or return the money — whichever you prefer.
Cancelling before payment
While the order is unpaid, you can simply ignore it. If you prefer, tell us by email and we will close the order straight away.
Payment disputes (chargebacks)
If you do not recognise a charge, talk to us before opening a dispute with your bank. Almost every unrecognised charge is our company's name, or the payment institution's, appearing on the statement instead of the site's name — we sort that out in minutes, and a direct refund is far quicker than a dispute, which usually takes weeks.
Once a dispute is opened, the case is run by the card network and the issuer, and all we do is submit the purchase records. While it is being reviewed, access to the download may be suspended.
Misuse
We reserve the right to refuse a refund and to suspend access where there is evidence of bad faith, such as repeated refund requests from the same buyer across different products, resale or public distribution of the file, or payment fraud. A refusal is always explained in writing, and you can challenge it through consumer protection channels.
No plans, no subscriptions
The site sells no subscriptions, no recurring plans and no automatic charges. Each purchase is a one-off and creates no future debit. If a recurring charge appears with our name on it, tell us immediately: it is not ours.
